Best Websites for Booking Attraction Tickets

Turning up at an attraction and hoping to get a ticket on the day can often be hard nowadays, and many attractions require you to buy a ticket online ahead of visiting.
Also, many of the big attractions now limit how many people can enter each day, so if you haven’t booked ahead, you might not get in at all.
Even if you do manage to get in, you can often pay more by buying your ticket at the entrance than you would have done by booking online, as many sites give discounts for booking online.

There are quite a few websites where you can book attraction tickets and activities, and they are all very similar, but each has its own strengths depending on what you’re looking for and where you’re travelling.

Here are the top three websites for booking attraction tickets that I think are worth using from my personal experience over the last twenty years.

Klook

Klook covers more than 1,000 destinations around the world, so you can use it wherever you’re travelling.

It has a particularly large selection in Asia, with lots of things to book in places such as Japan, Korea, Thailand and Singapore, but Klook is a global site.

You can find all sorts of things on Klook, from attraction tickets, theme parks, activities and day trips to airport transfers and even rail passes, so it’s worth checking wherever you’re travelling.

Tiqets

Tiqets operates in more than 60 countries and covers over 1,000 destinations around the world. It has a particularly good selection of museums, landmarks and popular attractions in Europe, but you’ll find attractions and activities in destinations all across the globe.

Many of the tickets can be used directly from your phone, so there’s no need to print anything out.

Another thing I like is that many attractions let you choose an entry time when booking. This is really useful if you’re trying to plan your day and don’t want to spend half of it waiting around in queues.

Expedia

Most people probably think of Expedia when it comes to booking flights and hotels, but they also have a “Things to Do” section where you can book attractions and activities in destinations around the world.

The selection isn’t as big as Klook or Tiqets, but it’s still worth checking wherever you’re travelling.

If you’re already using Expedia to book your flights or accommodation, it can also be convenient to book your attraction tickets in the same place.

Which one should you use?

All three have attractions and activities in destinations around the world, so you can use any of these three, but each has its own strengths depending on what you’re looking for and where you’re travelling.

  • If you’re looking for museums or major landmarks, particularly in Europe, check Tiqets.
  • For tours, activities, transfers and things to do, especially around Asia, Klook would be my first choice.
  • Expedia is more about convenience. If you’re already booking your flights or hotel through Expedia, it’s worth having a look to see if they have the attraction you’re after before checking elsewhere.

All three websites are worldwide, so you can use any of them, but you may find that one has more attractions available than another for the destination you’re visiting.

Whichever website you use, there are a few things I’d check before booking.

  • Check the cancellation policy. Don’t just assume you can get your money back if your plans change, as the rules can be different for each ticket.
  • Check whether you’re booking a specific time slot or just a ticket for that day. Some attractions require you to arrive at a particular time, while others let you turn up whenever you want during opening hours. Make sure you know when your ticket is valid.
  • If you’re visiting somewhere really popular, don’t leave it until the last minute to buy your tickets. Places such as the Colosseum in Rome can sell out days or weeks in advance during busy periods. Booking ahead means one less thing to worry about when you’re there.

I always think it’s better to spend a few minutes booking your tickets before you go, rather than turn up at an attraction that you have really been looking forward to visiting, just to find out you can’t get in or that you will be waiting in a queue for a very long time.

Book it in advance, save money and save time.
